The HBO series 'The Last of Us' will release its second part on April 13 after two years of waiting, the company announced. This series, which has won eight Emmy awards and stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, tells the story of Joel and Ellie in a post-apocalyptic United States where they fight against ruthless killers and creatures despite having no familial ties.

Season two will follow the events of the PlayStation video game sequel 'The Last of Us: Part II' and will pick up the protagonists' lives five years later, facing new challenges such as fungi and zombies. The cast of the series will include new notable members such as Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Danny Ramirez, and Young Mazino.

Catherine O'Hara will also appear as a guest star in the series, although her role has not yet been revealed. The final episode of the first season, aired in March 2023, attracted 8.2 million viewers on HBO Max and linear broadcasts, according to Nielsen and Warner data.
